THINGS TO DO

Our B&B is an ideal starting point to explore cities such as Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Malaga, Ronda, Antequera, Alora ... all accessible in less than 2 hours away.

Or for those who prefer to explore the region, it is certainly worth exploring the real, unspoilt nature and rich history of Andalucia.

There are certainly a lot of things to do for each of you!

At only 10 minutes driving from the B&B, you'll find this huge gap formed by the river over millions of years.

In addition, you can cross it by a path.

This 3,5km long trail, flanking the rock was recently restored (2014-2015).

By this trail you cross the gorge giants enjoying splendid views of the over 100 meter high gulf split and eroded by the river.

About 2 km west of

El Chorro, you could visit various sites, such as the ruins of the Mozarabic Bobastro church with its very important Andalusian history.

Either you prefer to enjoy nature, beautiful panoramic views on El Tajo ...

These three lakes, with its blue azure colored water, span over three villages: Ardales, of Bobadillo and Antequera. They are located northwest of the Sierra de la Huma. One of the dams was built between 1907-1921 and was inaugurated by King Alfonso XIII in 1921, which passed through the path of "Caminito del Rey" (the king's path) to reach that dam.

The other two dams were built in 1976.

This less known but no less beautiful town, Antequera, is only 30 km or 45 minutes driving from here. This city offers a rich history, shops, the gastronomy ...

 

 

 

 

 

A few kilometers outside the city, you'll find the natural park of "El Torcal" and the "Lobo Park" where wolves are roaming free.

This protected natural site, only 10 km outside the town of Antequera offers you a spectacular landscape which was formed and eroded for millions of years ago. With some imagination, you'll see very spectacular formed statues into these stratified rocks. From upon El Torcal you will notice the bay of Malaga.

Ronda

This city is divided in two by a groove. It is only 1h15 driving from the B&B.

You can also reach it, by crossing the Sierra de las Nieves, passing the beautiful villages like Alozaina and

El Burgo.

Other very beautiful villages are the White Villages (Pueblos Blancos) in the vicinity of Ronda, such as Grazalema, Azahara de la Sierra, Montecorto, Setenil de las Bodegas, etc.

Málaga

​

At only 1 hour driving by car from the B&B or a 45 minutes train from El Chorro train station, the city of sea, students, well animated. It offers: sea, beach, sun, food for tast, culture, music, museums: Picaso museum, Maria Thyssen museum, Centre Pompidou of Málaga, the Alcazaba and roman Amphitheater, etc., 

very trendy shops in the marble paved streets, nightlife ...

Also its habour is a place to visit.

Would you like to walk near the sea?  Just near the habour there is the famous beach of  'La Malagueta'.

Or just outside the center for Málaga on the sea side there are plenty of long beaches, as a Promenade all along these beaches. 

You could also discover Málaga by bike.  Plenty of bike renting stores are near the tourist office, on the 'plaza Marina'.

Cordoba

Cordoba, very surprising city with its impressive Mezquita (Mosque).

In a little less than 2 hours driving, you can visit, walk in its beautiful shopping streets or enjoy its cultural happenings ...
Certainly for every taste.

Granada

Granada, famous for its Alhambra, is only 1h45 driving from the B&B.

This Moorish site offers you a picture of more than 800 years of Moorish occupation in its broadest form. To access it, you have to book your ticket well in advance.

The coast of the Costa del Sol

​

Lovers of the sea and the beach, and even the coast can swim in one of the beautiful beaches of the coast of the Costa del Sol (Marbella, Malaga), barely an hour's drive from the B&B.

For the more active holiday guests

Our active guests will certainly have fun, especially climbers, hikers, mountain bikers,  ...

Hikers can even find connection to the GR249, E5 and GR7 only 20 meters away from the entrance to our area. This hiking route, from the city of Malaga, goes in a big loop through the entire province of Málaga and this in 30 steps.

For the more advanced hikers who need more challenge and who are not shy from some scrambling, the "highlight" ... -> climbing the Huma (1191 m).

Incredible views over almost the whole of Andalusia.
Certainly an unforgettable moment.

The region of the Sierra de la Huma is well known in the world of climbing. Many climbing organizations nearby allow you, regardless of your climbing level, to improve the performance of your climbing and to give you an unforgettable day or week.

Water sports

Water sports enthusiasts will be sure to have what they desire, because in addition to our own pool

(5 m x 10 m), there are three large lakes just 10 minutes from here, in which of the first one you can swim, do pedal boating (pedalo), kayaking, fishing, ...

Many recreational organizations are within reach to Ardales Lakes.
